These terms apply to boats and sailing gear listed for sale on www.sailingacademy.co.za. “We” and “us” means SA Sailing Academy. By listing an item, or by paying for one, you agree to these terms.
For sellers
1. Listing is free. Every listing is reviewed by us before it is published, and we may edit, decline, unpublish or remove any listing at any time.
2. Commission: when your item sells to a buyer who found it through our website, a commission of 20% of the final sale price is payable to us. We deduct the commission from the buyer’s payment before paying you out.
3. The commission also applies if, within 6 months of your listing going live, you sell the item privately to a buyer who found it through our website or who contacted you because of the listing.
4. You confirm that you own the item (or are authorised to sell it), that it is free of finance or other claims, and that the description and photos are accurate and complete, including any known defects.
5. Payout: the buyer pays the full price to us. Once the buyer has collected the item and confirmed it matches the listing (or 48 hours after collection without a valid complaint), we pay you the sale price less our commission by EFT to the bank account you give us, normally within 5 business days.
6. If you withdraw an item after a buyer has paid, or the item is materially not as described, the buyer will be refunded and you may be liable for any payment fees we incur.
7. Keep your listing up to date. Use the private edit link we email you to change or withdraw your listing. Changes are re-checked before they go live.
For buyers
1. Items are sold by private sellers, not by SA Sailing Academy. We check listings but do not survey or guarantee items. Sold as seen.
2. You pay the full price to SA Sailing Academy by card (Yoco) or EFT. EFT reservations lapse if payment is not received within the stated time.
3. After payment we put you in touch with the seller to arrange collection. Collection and transport are at your cost unless agreed otherwise.
4. Inspect the item at collection. If it is materially not as described, tell us in writing within 48 hours of collection and before using it; if we agree, you return it to the seller and we refund you in full. Otherwise the sale is final.
5. If the seller cannot deliver the item, we refund you in full.
