Learning to sail at Theewater Sports Club
Founded in 1979, Theewater Sports Club has grown from humble beginnings into one of the largest water sports clubs in South Africa. Its setting, conditions for water sports and facilities make it one of the most popular recreational venues in the Western Cape.
Theewater Sports Club sits on a peninsula on the north-eastern shore of Theewaterskloof Dam, surrounded by farmland and mountains. SA Sailing Academy teaches dinghy and Hobie courses here for youth, adults and families, and runs sailing camps over weekends and school holidays. We have a training room and bunk house on site.
Our host clubs welcome you as their guests while you learn to sail with us. Please support them and make use of their facilities: a restaurant and bar over weekends and holidays, a lounge and balcony with views over the water, and some of the best sunsets in the Western Cape.
