Kids’ sailing holiday camps in the Western Cape

Sailing holidays for children and teenagers at Theewater Sports Club on Theewaterskloof Dam, near Villiersdorp. 4-day camps over the school holidays and long weekends, with supervised bunk house accommodation and all meals included.

Beginners learn everything they need to sail with confidence, and more experienced sailors move on to gennaker and race training. As a guide, we accept children from 9 years old.

Family discount: 10% off the third and each further family member booked onto the same course.

What a camp day looks like

Days start with breakfast at 08:00, then two sailing lessons on the water, on-the-water games and a destination sail. After showers there are sailing games ashore, dinner, an evening session and hot chocolate before lights out at 22:00.

Good to know

Are campers supervised overnight?

Yes. Campers sleep in our supervised bunk house at Theewater Sports Club.

Does my child need to have sailed before?

No. Beginners are welcome, and more experienced sailors move on to gennaker and race training.

Do I need to be able to swim?

You need to be able to stay afloat. Everyone wears a life jacket on the water, however well they swim.

What should campers pack?

A wetsuit or a waterproof, windproof jacket, a change of clothes suited to the season, something warm for the evenings, and a sleeping bag and pillow.

Is there a discount for brothers and sisters?

Yes. Book three or more family members onto the same camp and the third and each further child gets 10% off.

How does booking work?

Choose a date and pay a 60% deposit online to secure your place. We email you a link to pay the balance, which is due 7 days before your course starts. Bookings made within 7 days of the start are paid in full.
